The Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) serves as the research and development arm of the United States Department of Homeland Security.

S&T seeks out novel solutions from within the tech start-up community to counter cyber threats in the financial industry. One primary area of focus is on the technologies and tools needed to harden critical systems and networks.

According to the agency, StackRox fits the need by providing technology that detects, defends, protects, restores, and responds to sophisticated cyber-threats. StackRox has been award two successive DHS grants.
